So you’ve made a resolution, now what?

re-solve (verb): to make a firm decision about

I think New Year’s resolutions are a great way for people to make positive changes in their lives. However, people often set goals to improve their health, and then have no idea where to go from there. Here are three simple steps to get started:

  • Do something. Any exercise is a good start. If you gradually work up your endurance and intensity you’ll be more likely to stick with it.
  • Keep a journal. Track what and when you’re eating and the type and duration of your exercise. (If you don’t like writing one out by hand, there are some excellent online options such as dailyburn.com, or sparkpeople.com.)
  • Find a workout partner. In order to be successful, you need to have someone keeping you accountable to actually show up over the time it takes to make progress.

Get your new year started on the right foot,
Glenn
